Academic Programs

Today’s world is global, dynamic and faced with complex challenges, ranging from the need for a sustainable future, for the planet and its increasingly mobile citizens, to continuous revolutions in technology, politics and education. Those who will succeed in and beneficially impact that world require a full spectrum education with time-honored cultural wisdom, as well as strong applied skills, including critical thinking and writing ability. Each of the Liberal Studies programs emphasizes both broad learning and specific expertise, preparing you for an immediate career or post-B.A. entry into professional schools and graduate degrees.

Note that the Interdisciplinary Studies B.A. gives you the maximum freedom to self-design a curriculum that matches your previous academic history and future goals. It can be completed by online course offerings, and is especially suitable for those wishing to develop and enhance a current employment path. The Liberal Studies B.A., although also flexible, builds your curriculum around one of four thematic tracks: Health & Human Concerns; Humanities & Cultural Traditions; Local & Global Environments; and Law, Business, & Society.
