Students in the Department of Liberal Studies are encouraged to draw upon the wide-ranging expertise of the College of Arts, Sciences and Education faculty, the college’s renowned research centers and state-of-the-art core science facilities.

In addition, the university includes the on-campus Patricia and Philip Frost Art Museum and the off-campus Wolfsonian-FIU Museum. Various lecture series across the university- including the Our Common Future Lecture Series, the Center for the Humanities and Urban Environment lecture series, and the Ruth K. and Shepard Broad Distinguished Lecture Series – bring students, their professors and the community together to discuss both timely and enduring topics of interest. Students can also round out their FIU experience with one of the many international study programs through the office of Study Abroad.
